Tesla Opens a Supercharger Station in Växjö
There is now a Tesla Supercharger station in Växjö, offering all electric car owners reliable and user-friendly fast charging with high capacity for long trips. It is Tesla’s 75th Supercharger station in Sweden, strategically located along the major highways that connect travel in all directions. The station has 16 Superchargers with V3 technology and is open to all electric cars. The charging station is located in the Grand Samarkand shopping area, near McDonald’s.
"We are thrilled that Tesla is now setting up charging stations for electric cars at Grand Samarkand. This is fully in line with our sustainability efforts and increases the opportunities for electric car owners to charge their vehicles on our premises," says Center Manager Mats Jäderberg.
Over 90% of all Superchargers are open to all electric vehicles
The station in Växjö is open toall electric vehicle owners as part of Tesla’s pilot project to welcome all electric vehicles. The 16 chargers provide up to 250 kW, and it’s easy to charge and navigate using the navigation system in Tesla vehicles or the mobile app. The station is strategically located at the Grand Samarkand shopping area, where restaurants and stores are nearby to ensure the best customer experience. With the opening of the Växjö Supercharger station, there are now 1,038 chargers spread across 75 stations, from Björkliden in the north to Ystad in the south (see the Supercharger map), and Tesla is continuing its rapid expansion in 2023.
Fast, reliable, and easy charging
The Model 3 and Model Y SUV can charge up to 275 kilometers of range in fifteen minutes at a V3 Supercharger, and the average charging session is expected to take about a quarter of an hour. The new Model S and X charge even faster, with up to 322 km in the same amount of time. Although the technology is constantly evolving, we will continue to focus on reliability, which is one of the most important characteristics for fast chargers used on long trips. Tesla’s global Supercharger network was
Thanks to the variable pricing model, Time-of-Use, customers are encouraged to use the capacity of the Supercharger network more efficiently during peak travel days. By charging between 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day, customers pay a lower price while also reducing the load on the local power grid.
Currently, charging rates for Tesla owners and other electric vehicle owners with a subscription to Tesla’s Supercharger network average 3.70 kr per kWh during off-peak hours. As energy markets evolve, prices on the Supercharger network will be adjusted more regularly, allowing owners to benefit from savings when energy costs drop. Tesla owners can view charging prices at each station on the car’s display and in the Tesla mobile app.
