Hemtex Opens a Larger Store in New Premises
Grand Samarkand is pleased to announce that two of our popular stores, Hemtex and Cervera, will soon be undergoing exciting relocations and upgrades. This is part of our ongoing commitment to providing an inspiring shopping experience for all our visitors.
“This is a fantastic development for Grand Samarkand. With these relocations, we’ll not only have modernized stores, but also an even better selection for our customers. It’s exciting to see how our tenants are growing their businesses and creating new shopping experiences,” says Lovisa Hegborn, center manager at Grand Samarkand.
Hemtex will be moving to larger premises and taking over the space previously occupied by the Zizzi store. The new store will span 625 square meters and offer a wider selection of products—including furniture—to better meet customers’ needs. The new, modern, and inspiring Hemtex store is scheduled to open in May 2025.
Anders Lorentzon, CEO of Hemtex, had the following to say about Hemtex's plans:
“We are very excited to now be able to build a brand-new Hemtex store at Växjö Grand Samarkand. Our current store is far too small. We’re seeing high demand from our customers in Växjö for more inspiration and a wider selection of home decor items.
In the new, larger store, we’ll be able to showcase even more inspiration, making it easier for customers to create a stylish home. For us at Hemtex, the home is the most important place. We carry everything for home decor, and we’ve now expanded our selection to include furniture such as sofas, lounge furniture, dining tables, and beds. Our furniture is designed in-house in a Scandinavian style and manufactured in Europe to the highest quality standards at great prices, and we deliver directly to the customer’s home within 7 business days. We’ll also have space for even more curtains, duvet covers, and blankets/pillows, etc. We believe in brick-and-mortar retail and are investing heavily in developing our stores and opening new ones throughout Sweden. Now it’s Växjö’s turn. We’re seeing increased demand from our customers. They want a wider selection, and it feels fantastic to finally be able to showcase an even larger Hemtex in Växjö. “It should be ‘wonderful to come home to Hemtex Växjö,’” concludes Anders Lorentzon.
At the same time, Cervera is taking over Hemtex’s former premises and plans to open its new store toward the end of the second quarter of 2025. The new Cervera store will carry a wide selection and offer the same high quality that customers have come to expect.
